Insulation material construction technology and requirements for the bottom and wall of the glass kiln

The insulation of the bottom and wall of the glass kiln is carried out in a cold state during masonry, while the insulation of the rest of the kiln is carried out in a hot state.

01 Insulation construction of the bottom of the pool

The key to the insulation of the bottom of the pool is to prevent the glass liquid from entering the bottom insulation layer. Therefore, before paving the tiles, the tiles should be smoothed around the edges, the gap between the tiles should not be greater than 1mm, and the expansion joints should be left at the contact points with the pool wall around the edges; the ramming material layer should be uniform in thickness, flat on the surface and in close contact with the paving tiles.

02 Insulation construction of the pool wall

The pool depth is designed to be 1.2m, and the pool wall uses 1.2m long zirconium corundum bricks. The horizontal seams are eliminated to facilitate overall insulation, but the area about 200mm below the liquid surface is not insulated to facilitate air cooling; the vertical brick seams of the pool wall are not insulated, and 20~30mm gaps are left on both sides to prevent glass liquid from seeping out and facilitate daily maintenance and inspection.

03 Insulation construction of melting arch and heat storage chamber top arch

700mm is left without insulation at the expansion joint between each arch of the melting arch, and 400mm is left without insulation around the electric couple.

① Sealing layer: Clean the insulation part before construction, expose the original brick surface, and there is no dust accumulation in the brick joints. When constructing in a hot state, it is necessary to ensure the construction quality and pay attention to safety. The thickness of the sealing mud should be evenly applied and the surface should be flat. After being heated and condensed, it will not crack or bulge, and it will be firmly bonded to the arch brick.

② Insulation brick layer: When laying insulation bricks, the bottom surface should be in close contact with the sealing layer, and the bricks should not be arranged too tightly, but they must be neat.

③ Insulation layer: Because the HSJ-780 composite insulation coating is used, the construction requirements are high. The supplier will provide a dedicated person to the factory for construction. The construction workers will mix different consistencies according to different parts for application. The adhesion is reliable, without cracking or falling off, and the strength is high, which ensures the quality of the project.

04 Construction of the breast wall of the clarification part and the surrounding wall of the heat storage chamber

Because the thermal insulation coating is a paste with a certain density, it must not be applied too thickly for vertical construction to prevent falling off. Therefore, the construction should be carried out in layers and finally smoothed.

After the melting furnace is insulated, the thermal efficiency is improved, the heat consumption is reduced, and energy is saved. At the same time, the quality of the glass liquid is improved and the melting environment is greatly improved. Therefore, the glass melting furnace should adopt full insulation. However, attention should also be paid to the disadvantages brought by insulation, such as severe erosion of refractory materials, increased thermal repairs of melting furnaces, especially large flat glass furnaces, and the bottom insulation of the pool will cause the risk of floating bricks on the bottom of the pool. Therefore, many factories adopt the bottom activity insulation scheme, which not only saves energy but also ensures safe production.
