Refractory Ceramic Fiber Production Process

Nov 25,2024

The production process of refractory ceramic fiber mainly includes the following steps:

I. Raw material preparation

1. Select raw materials: Select appropriate raw materials according to the type and performance requirements of the required refractory ceramic fiber. Common raw materials include alumina, silica, zircon sand, etc.

2. Raw material processing: Crushing, screening and mixing the raw materials to ensure uniform particle size and stable composition of the raw materials.

II. Melting fiberization

1. Melting: Put the processed raw materials into a resistance furnace and heat them to a molten state.

2. Fiberization: The molten material forms a thin stream through the high-temperature flow port, and then disperses it into fibers by high-pressure air or centrifugal force of the impeller. Commonly used fiberization methods include blowing and spinning.

Blowing method: The molten material is dispersed into particles under the action of high-speed air, and fibers are formed between the particles.

Spinning method: Use the centrifugal force of the high-speed rotation of the impeller to throw the molten liquid into fibers.

III. Fiber processing

1. Collection and cooling: After fiberization, the fibers are collected and cooled to room temperature.

2. Needle punching process: The cooled fiber is needle punched on both sides to improve its strength and integrity.

IV. Product molding

1. Molding method: According to the product requirements, select the appropriate molding method, such as pressing, laying, etc.

2. Curing and drying: The molded product is cured to improve its stability and strength. Then, it is dried to remove moisture and volatile substances in the product.

V. Quality inspection and packaging

1. Quality inspection: The quality of the refractory ceramic fiber products is inspected, including thickness, bulk density, thermal conductivity, tensile strength and other indicators. Ensure that the product meets relevant standards and customer requirements.

2. Packaging and storage: Qualified products are packaged and properly stored to prevent moisture, contamination and damage.

VI. Other preparation processes

In addition to the above common production processes, refractory ceramic fibers can also be prepared by matrix fiber solution impregnation method, chemical vapor deposition method, chemical vapor reaction method and precursor conversion method. These methods have their own characteristics and are suitable for the production of different types of refractory ceramic fibers.

The production process of refractory ceramic fiber includes raw material preparation, melt fiberization, fiber processing, product molding, quality inspection and packaging. In actual production, the appropriate process and preparation method should be selected according to product requirements and production conditions.
