Refractory Bricks

Where can high alumina bricks be used?

Feb 28,2025

As an important refractory material, high alumina bricks are widely used in various high-temperature environments due to their high aluminum content, good refractoriness, corrosion resistance and thermal stability. Specifically, they are mainly used in the following aspects:

Steel industry: High alumina bricks are widely used in the steel industry, mainly for the linings of blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, converters, electric furnaces and other equipment. These equipment need to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures, as well as erosion by slag liquid during operation. High alumina bricks, with their excellent refractoriness and slag resistance, can meet these harsh working conditions and ensure the stable operation of the equipment.

Non-ferrous metal industry: In the process of non-ferrous metal smelting, high alumina bricks are also widely used in the linings of reverberatory furnaces, resistance furnaces and other equipment. These equipment also need to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments, and the excellent performance of high alumina bricks makes them an ideal choice.

Chemical industry: In the chemical industry, high alumina bricks are mainly used for the linings of high-temperature reactors, cracking furnaces, incinerators and other equipment. These equipment usually need to withstand high temperature, high pressure and strong corrosion environment. The refractory and corrosion resistance of high alumina bricks can meet these requirements and ensure the smooth progress of the production process.

Ceramic industry: High alumina bricks are also widely used in the ceramic industry, mainly used for the lining of ceramic firing kilns, high-temperature tunnel kilns and other equipment. The high refractoriness and high thermal shock stability of high alumina bricks make them have a wide range of application prospects in the ceramic industry, which helps to improve the quality and output of ceramic products.

Building materials industry: High alumina bricks are also used in cement kilns, glass kilns and other equipment to provide stable lining support for these high-temperature equipment.

Energy and incineration field: In coke ovens, circulating fluidized bed boilers, carbon roasters, incinerators and other equipment, high alumina bricks also play an important role.

In addition, according to the content of alumina (Al₂O₃) in high-alumina bricks, they can also be divided into different types and applied to different scenarios:

Low-alumina high-alumina bricks: Al₂O₃ content is between 48% and 70%, mainly used for linings of blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, electric furnace tops, blast furnaces and reverberatory furnaces.

High-alumina high-alumina bricks: Al₂O₃ content is between 70% and 85%, mainly used for linings of blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces and steel ladle, as well as for high-temperature equipment in the chemical and petroleum industries.

Corundum high-alumina bricks: Al₂O₃ content is between 85% and 95%, with high refractoriness, high load softening temperature, high slag resistance, high thermal shock stability, low creep rate and other characteristics, mainly used for high-temperature equipment in the steel, nonferrous, chemical, petroleum, ceramic and other industrial fields.

High alumina bricks are widely used in many industrial fields due to their excellent refractory and erosion resistance, and are an ideal choice for the lining of high-temperature equipment.
