First, slag resistance
In order to improve the material's anti-slag performance and anti-steel penetration ability, corundum spinel bricks are usually added Cr2O3 or add some chromium steel jade. Cr2O3 and a-Al2O3 have the same crystal structure. Cr2O3 not only improves the slag resistance of the material, but also increases the wetting angle of the material and the molten steel. The pore blockage of the gas-permeable brick due to permeation of the molten steel is significantly improved.
Second, anti-thermal shock performance
The main damage pattern of vent bricks is thermal shock damage. With the continuous increase of the tapping temperature, there is a large temperature difference between the working and intermittent working face of the ventilated brick, and the material is required to have extremely high thermal shock resistance. The introduction of the spinel phase into the castable will increase the thermal shock resistance of the permeable brick.
The oxide or non-oxide added in the breathable brick forms a solid solution phase with the aggregate at a high temperature, increases the high temperature strength of the brick, improves the permeability of the brick, and resists the erosion of the brick by the molten slag in the ladle. After the air-permeable brick has been subjected to high-temperature heat treatment, its use performance is improved to meet its use requirements.
