Refractory is the material basis of the glass furnace, which has a great impact on the overall efficiency of the furnace, and must be reasonably selected. The working conditions of various parts of the furnace are different, and the performance of refractory materials is required to be different.
Before using refractory materials for glass furnace, you need to first understand the following factors:
1 furnace life;
2 glass quality requirements;
3 production capacity, that is, the melting rate and the melting temperature are selected;
4 Insulation, in which parts need to be insulated in order to save fuel;
5 economy, that is, the amount of investment.
When selecting refractory materials, it is necessary to meet the requirements of use, to ensure the economical shape of the pool furnace, and to facilitate production.
(1) Guaranteed use requirements
The various refractory materials used in the construction of glass furnace shall meet the following basic requirements;
1 should have a high softening and melting temperature, and the general refractoriness is not lower than 1580 °C.
2 has sufficient mechanical strength to resist impact, friction, high temperature and high speed flame, smoke and other mechanical effects.
3 high temperature structure strength, can withstand mechanical load for a long time at operating temperature.
4 The composition of the molten batch material is highly resistant to the erosion of molten glass and gaseous substances.
5 The pollution of the glass is small.
6 resistance to rapid cooling and thermal performance (thermal shock) is good.
7 high temperature volume stability, residual shrinkage or expansion is small.
8 Thermal capacity, thermal expansion, thermal conductivity and other thermal and thermal properties meet the requirements of use.
9 The shape is regular and the size is accurate.
10 Other requirements according to the conditions of use (such as the electrical performance of the electrode bricks to meet the requirements of use). The refractory material must be selected according to the different erosion conditions of each part of the pool furnace.
(2) Guarantee the economics of the pool furnace
The selection of refractory materials should pay attention to the actual situation, fully study the balance of service life of refractory materials in all parts of the whole pool furnace, and obtain greater economic effects with less investment. Fully ensure the economics of the glass pool furnace and the balance of the life of the entire pool furnace.
(3) Easy to manufacture
When selecting refractory materials, it is necessary to take care of both use and manufacturing. Refractory brick type, the standardization of size is conducive to the development of refractory production, easy to achieve the design of glass pool furnace design, and is conducive to construction and maintenance. S&P bricks typically cost 30%-50% less than shaped bricks. Therefore, glass furnaces should be given priority in the use of standardized refractory bricks.
