Refractory Bricks

Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate serves many functions in refractories.

Apr 03,2025

Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate serves several important functions in refractories:

1. Binding Effect

• Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate strongly binds various refractory aggregates, powders, etc. in refractories to form a single whole with consistent strength and shape. At room temperature, the chemical properties of monosodium aluminum phosphate cause it to react with other components of the refractory material, forming chemical bonds that firmly bind the components together. At high temperatures, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate can undergo further polycondensation reactions to form a more complex phosphate network structure, which enhances the binding effect and increases the high-temperature structural strength of the refractory.

2. Improved High-Temperature Strength

• At high temperatures, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate undergoes a series of physical and chemical changes, forming a ceramic phase material with a high melting point and high stability. This greatly increases the heat resistance of the refractory material, allowing it to withstand high temperatures without softening or melting, and also expands the refractory's application range.

3. Improved Corrosion Resistance

• The ceramic phase structure formed by aluminum dihydrogen phosphate has a high density, which can effectively prevent erosion of the refractory material by slag, gas, etc. at high temperatures, protect the internal structure of the refractory material from damage, and extend its service life.

4. Improved Construction Characteristics

• Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate can regulate the plasticity and fluidity of refractory materials, making them easier to shape, apply, and move during construction, thereby improving construction efficiency and quality. It also reduces the moisture content of the refractory, thereby reducing shrinkage and cracking during drying and allowing the refractory to better retain its shape and dimensional stability after installation.
