Characteristics and applications of high-aluminum high-strength refractory castables

Apr 25,2025

The characteristics and applications of high-aluminum high-strength refractory castables are as follows:

I. Characteristics of high-aluminum high-strength refractory castables

1•Excellent refractory performance: With high-aluminum bauxite as the main raw material, the refractoriness can reach about 1770℃, and it can work stably for a long time in a high-temperature environment above 1000℃.

2•High strength: It has high compressive strength and flexural strength, and can withstand the impact of materials, airflow and structural stress in the furnace.

3•Low cement content: The cement content is less than 8%, and the low-melting products are less produced at high temperature, which improves the refractoriness, compressive strength and slag resistance.

4•Good thermal shock resistance: The aggregate and micro powder have low thermal expansion coefficients, can withstand rapid temperature changes, and are not easy to crack and peel off.

5•Strong corrosion resistance: It has good resistance to corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, salts and slag, and can maintain stable performance in industrial furnaces with corrosive environments.

6•Good construction performance: After adding water and stirring, it has good fluidity and plasticity. It can be constructed by various methods such as pouring and spraying, and can adapt to complex shapes and parts.

2. Application of high-aluminum high-strength refractory castables

1•Metallurgical industry: used in blast furnace tapholes, ladles, furnace linings and other parts to resist the erosion of high-temperature molten metal; also used in the furnace, furnace top and other parts of electric furnaces, converters, heating furnaces, etc.

2•Building materials industry: used in the kiln lining of cement rotary kilns, the furnace walls of glass kilns, the furnaces of ceramic kilns and other parts to withstand high temperatures and material erosion, and extend the service life of kilns.

3•Petrochemical industry: used for the lining of high-temperature reaction equipment such as cracking furnaces, hydrogenation converters, catalytic cracking units, etc., to provide reliable fire-resistant protection for petrochemical production.

4•Power industry: used in the furnace, flue and other parts of boilers in coal-fired, gas-fired, biomass-fired power plants to resist the erosion of high-temperature flue gas and ensure the safe and stable operation of boilers.

5. Other industries: It is also used in the refractory lining of waste incinerators in the waste incineration industry, as well as in tunnel kilns, heat treatment furnaces and other kilns.
